Heās the star of his high school baseball team, he has a killer motorcycle, and his momās career as an artist is finally taking off. Then, a chance encounter with a leprechaun reveals that nothing in his world is as it seemsā¦
Soon, Colin and his friend Jesse are tasked with taking out the evil creature who cast a spell over their town, the ancient vampire known as the Avartagh. Now, theyāre being hunted by the unseelie fae, āfairiesā who are are deadlier, real-life versions of their fairy tale counterparts.
Thus they must attempt the impossible, and save their town from the evil fae whoāve taken it over. And if Colin and Jesse donāt stop the fae, the Avartagh will destroy everyone and everything they love⦠and heāll kill them in the process.
(Authorās Note: This novel is the prequel to Junkyard Druid. Originally released as a YA novel, it serves to provide a backstory to the Junkyard Druid series.)
0.5) Blood Scent
After the loss of his girlfriend Jesse, druid-trained hunter Colin McCool swore off monster-hunting for good. Now a rogue vampire is killing the weak and defenseless in his city, and no one else seems to care enough to stop him. To end the slaughter, Colin has agreed to take up his sword one last time⦠but will this āone final jobā be the death of him?
BLOOD SCENT A Junkyard Druid Urban Fantasy Novella, #1
Colinās life has finally regained some semblance of normalcy after the death of his girlfriend, Jesse. He no longer hunts supernatural creatures. He has a job working in his uncleās salvage yard that he enjoys. Heās even planning to start college in the fall.
And, he lives inside six acres of scrap iron, steel, and magical wards that keep the fae and other denizens of Austinās paranormal underworld far, far away from him.
Which is just how he likes it.
So when he runs across a rogue vampire on the hunt, his first instinct is to report it to the local coven leader and then mind his own business. But Colin just canāt stand aside and watch as innocent people are slaughtered.
Which is why heāll take up his sword one last time, for one final job. But with witches, doppelgangers, and demigods involved, this gig is turning out to be a lot more complicated and dangerous than he expected.
Hopefully, this āone last jobā wonāt truly become his lastā¦
(Note to readers: The events in this 30,000 word novella occur before Junkyard Druid. It can be read as a prequel to the Junkyard Druid/Colin McCool New Adult Urban Fantasy Novel Series or as a standalone novella.)
1) Junkyard Druid
A cursed druid, blackmailed by a faery queen to find a missing magic rock. Letās just hope they donāt hack the druid off⦠for everyoneās sake.
Nameās Colin McCool. Folks call me the Junkyard Druid. I hate that name.
Despite my last name, Iām not ācoolā like the other hunters in town. I donāt run an occult bookstore, Iāve never owned a Harley, and I didnāt inherit a family fortune passed down through generations of hunters before me.
And I kind of have this curse on me thatās messed up my life.
So, things have gone to hell since I was cursed. I live in a junkyard, my mentor Finn is a heroin addict, Iāve got the Cold Iron Circle breathing down my neck, and the local Fae Queen Maeve is blackmailing me into doing her dirty work.
Now Iām in way over my head trying to retrieve Maeveās stolen magic rock, all while helping my friend Belladonna solve a series of murders that may or may not involve the local werewolves.
And did I mention that my girlfriend is a ghost?
If I can just get the Faery Queenās tathlum back, and help Belladonna solve the murdersā¦
Then I just might live long enough to finish my first year of college.
2) Graveyard Druid
Colin McCool here, otherwise known as the Junkyard Druid. Not my favorite title, but since itās my only title I guess Iām stuck with it.
But hey, things are looking up. Sure, a powerful and sentient magical artifact may have taken up residence inside my skull, and Iām still burdened with a nasty curse cast by an ancient sorceress of the Tuatha DĆ© Danannā¦
ā¦but Iām trying really hard to look on the bright side of things.
Seeing as how Iāve been dragged back into the world of the fae, I figure I may as well be of use. And if I can make a little scratch while using my druidic talents for good and not evil, so much the better.
Which is why I took this job working for Austinās vampire coven, cleaning up a ghoul infestation at the city cemetery. Itās not their work and they donāt want the heat, so they hired me to take care of it before it gets out of hand.
Easiest. Job. Ever. Iāll just whack a few ghouls, hide the bodies, and collect my fee.
I mean, seriouslyāwhat could possibly go wrong?
3) Moonlight Druid
When a fae child goes missing, Colin is hired to bring him back. Now he has to crack the case, all while learning to control his shifter abilities under the watchful eye of the local werewolf alpha. But with half the pack against him and enemies at every turn, will his next misstep be his last?
MOONLIGHT DRUID A New Adult Urban Fantasy Novel From M.D. Massey Book 3 In The Colin McCool Paranormal Suspense Series
The nameās Colin McCool, but some call me the Junkyard Druid. Iām just your typical college student, living under a nasty fae curse that turns me into something unholy and deadly at the worst possible moments.
Like I said, typical.
Lately Iāve been taking odd jobs in the supernatural community, solving cases and hunting down things that go bump in the night. But this last job has really thrown me for a loop. A fae child went missing, and Iāve been hired to bring him back.
The good news is, the local alpha is teaching me how to control my ability to shift into that other, darker side of me. The bad news is, the deeper I get into this case the more twisted and sinister it becomes.
Letās just hope I can learn to control my Hyde-side and rescue that child⦠before the darker side of me takes over for good.
4) Underground Druid
Colin McCool is hellbent on bringing vengeance to the doorstep of the Fae. But to do so, heāll have to complete an impossible task in exchange for his passage to the mystical realm of Underhill. Will he outwit the Fae and survive this deadly undertaking? Or, will he be trapped in Underhill⦠forever?
I thought the job was done when we broke up the Faeās child sex trafficking ring. We rescued the kids, killed the ringleaders, and everyone was supposed to live happily ever after.
But as it turns out, that only happens in fairy tales.
Because when youāre dealing with the Fae I know, thereās always another nightmare waiting in the wings.
Now Iām traveling into the belly of the beastāstraight into Underhill, the mystical realm of the Fae. And to pay for my passage to and from the Faery lands, Iāll have to do something no one has ever done before.
Iām going to steal the source of magic that powers Underhill itself.
All I have to do is get to Underhill, steal a few uber-powerful magical relics from some Celtic gods, rescue the remaining children the Fae abducted, and get us all home in one piece.
Oh, and I also have to outsmart Maeve, Austinās local faery queen⦠because I know sheās not helping me travel to Underhill out of the goodness of her heart.
Piece of cake, right? Yeah, right.
One thingās for certain⦠if this mission is going to be my swan song, I intend to go down spell-slinging.
4.5) Blood Circus
Best-selling urban fantasy author M.D. Massey welcomes readers back to the world of the Junkyard Druid in a brand-new short story collection! This 38,000 word volume features characters from the Colin McCool series, starring in three separate novelette-length stories:

But when it comes to standing up to the ancient fae witch who rules her family with an iron fist, she has her reservations. Can Belladonna complete a task for the Anjana that will ensure her freedom⦠and her future with Colin?
The Vigil
Hemi always said his mother was a force of nature. As Colin discovers on meeting her, his best friend is a master of understatement. Now, the Maori warriorās mother has assigned the druid a unique task⦠one that could cost him his life.

5) Druid Justice
After Colin cuts off their connection to Underhill, the high fae lose their position of magical supremacy. Sensing a shift in the balance of power, an unknown faction begins a brutal assault on the fae. Incensed by the injustice of their actions, Colin embarks on a one-man quest to find the persons responsible⦠so he can mete out some Druid Justice.
When I came back from Underhill, I was certain that my dealings with the fae were done. Sure, I knew theyād be after meāI mean, I had cut off their unlimited supply of magic, after all.
I just didnāt think Iād have to help them anymore.
But when fae started dropping like flies and the Red Cap Syndicate came begging for my help, I felt kind of obliged to lend a hand. Thing is, nobody would have attacked the fae in such a brazen manner before I betrayed their queen.
So, I guess itās my fault all the fae are being assassinated. Oops.
Do I feel bad about the killings? Nah. The fae have been preying on humans for millennia, and I think itās about time someone turned the tables on them.
That being said, itās still wrongāso it is my duty to put a stop to it.
The only problem is, Iām not the same druid who went to Underhill and lived. My Hyde-side is getting out of control again, and if I get in a tight spot I canāt take the risk of letting him out to save my skin.
So, Iāll have to solve this case and deal with the killers the old-fashioned way⦠with magic and guile, all while handing out a little Druid Justice.
6) Druid Enforcer
When a rookie monster hunter disappears while investigating a series of suspicious murders, druid enforcer Colin McCool is called in to find his young friend and stop the killings. But when his new allies betray him, heāll be forced use every skill at his disposal to evade capture and locate the young hunter⦠before time runs out for them both!
DRUID ENFORCER A New Adult Urban Fantasy Novel From M.D. Massey Book 6 In The Colin McCool Paranormal Suspense Series
After I became the druid justiciar for the central Texas area, I thought for sure Iād get a breather. All I wanted was a little time to lick my wounds after a long hard fight with a rogue wizard and his crew.
But like my Uncle Ed always said, wish in one hand and⦠well, you get the picture.
As it turns out, being the areaās supernatural sheriff isnāt all itās cracked up to be. Sure, I get paid when I handle a problem for one of the factionsāno complaints there. The problem is, itās been nothing but putting out fires for the fae and the other major players since I got stuck with this gig.
Like it or not, Iām working a job that concerns both the fae and the vamps, chasing down a supernatural terror like none Iāve ever seen. And hell if a wannabe monster hunter didnāt get himself snatched by the very same creature thatās been dropping bodies all over Austin.
Now I have to find the kid, save the fae and the local vampire coven from exposure, salvage my relationship with my girlfriend, and figure out what to do with my live-in ex who may or may not have a magically-induced mental illness.
I wonder, do druid enforcers get paid vacation time? Because Iām definitely going to need a sabbatical after I figure out this whole mess.
That is if I donāt get eaten by a demon or a yokai before I solve the case⦠in which case, at least Iāll finally get some rest.
