Benedict Jacka - Alex Verus series.

I had read books 1 -7 by downloading them (for free) from YouTube. After searching around I was lucky to discover books 8 and 9 on this site and at a remarkably low cost. Thank you for being there to help in my search!
The Alex Verus series is mainly set in modern day London and concerns his life as a Mage (magic user), his interaction with the council which governs the 'Light' mages and the machinations of his fellow 'Dark' mages. The plots are well thougt out in each book and the author has given a great deal of thought, to an incredible amount of different types of powers, used by the protagonists on a daily basis. Character building for the four main subjects of the series is excelent. The narrator, Gilbert Jackson(often shown in web searches as Gildart Jackson), is probably one of the best that I have come across - I never caught him using the wrong voice for a character.
I thoroughly enjoyed the series (there are 12 books in all) and recommend anyone to at least try the first book, which is on Youtube (you'll be hooked).
